This is Another Reason Why Comprehensive Insurance Is Awesome

Today I will like to give you another reason why comprehensive insurance is awesome to have. I recently lost a colleague, who died in his sleep. So my company put together an event at Muson Center in Lagos Island so we can mourn with his family. After the event ended at about 7pm, I opened up my Google map to check the fastest home. The map directed me to take Third Mainland then Carter to Ijora to connect to Bode Thomas. I was hesitant as I typically try to avoid Carter Bridge due to car robberies that happen there.

Then I remembered that there was Champions League game between Liverpool and Atletico so I went against my instinct and took the third mainland bridge. The bridge was clear all the way until I got to Carter Bridge and I suddenly fought myself in a heavy traffic.

Carter Bridge is usually dark at night which makes it an ideal place for robberies. I entered the last lane on the left and the traffic was moving very slowly. Suddenly, someone hit my car so I put my car on park and was about to come out. when I noticed the driver of the car that hit me was trying to hit someone by his window and mistakenly hit me instead.

The next thing I heard was his windows busting, both on the driver’s side and the passenger’s side. He was driving a Mercedes Benz SUV and had a white woman in front of the car with him. It happened so fast, that within 10 seconds the boys that busted his windows were gone with their phones and wallets.

As I drove away, I started regretting going against my instinct. Then I worried about the damage to my vehicle which I hadn’t seen at that point. Then I remembered that I have comprehensive insurance so my fears dissipated. I could only hope the victim had car insurance too because if he does, the damage to his car would be inconsequential. Because the insurance company would pay to fix the damage. I know some of you are still very skeptical about car insurance in Nigeria. But I can assure you that it works.
